The home has the welfare and the well being of the residents as its prime objective

We are an Industrial and Provident society managed by a voluntary committee for the benefit of the older people of Hyde and have been established since 1956.

We are in very pleasant surroundings backing onto the green belt of Werneth Low in Hyde, Greater Manchester and are on the main Hyde to Stockport 330 bus route.

We have a staff team that is committed to looking after our residents, supported by the committee & friends & relatives of both present & past residents.  See link to opportunities if you would like to join our team

We also have 12 properties in the grounds which are rented to people who are able to look after themselves; these are for people who live within 5 miles of Bowlacre and are over 65 years old; please contact the admin office for further details. See link to properties for further details.

We have an e-mail account ‘residents@bowlacre.org’ if you would like to send an e-mail to one of our residents; this is monitored regularly and any message will be printed out & passed to your relative or friend; this is a free service and remember an email can have a photo attached; if a reply is wanted then this will be done by one of our team.

We have Skype & a webcam on our computer; use the e-mail facility to request a time and we will try to organise a session where you can talk to & see your relative using Skype (again a free service)

Jan 2013 There is a rumour circulating that we are in negotations to sell the business to a foreign investor; I would take this opportunity to inform you that this is not the case and as a charity we cannot sell the business to a private company.
